So I recently started a new job, and as much as I love it, it’s hard work. I am now a prep cook in the team dining facility for the St. Lucie Mets. I have Mondays and Tuesdays off, so I’m going to try getting back to regular blog posts next week.
This week, though, I have some announcements!
First of all, congratulations to Kelly Hubbard, who just won a 1-year subscription to Gluten-Free Living magazine! My next giveaway will be held in April. Enter between April 15th and 21st. To qualify for any Deglutenizer contest, all you have to do is subscribe to my YouTube channel!
All future Deglutenizer contests will be held the third full week of the month. By reducing contests to once a month, I hope to be able to give away better prizes, promote contests more thoroughly, and reduce conflict between contest information and new blog content. For all the latest giveaway information, please visit my Contest page!
Also, I figured out what I’m going to do with twitch (and by extension, YouTube)! I’m going to use YouTube exclusively for blog videos. I may also share my videos on twitch just so I can live chat with followers about that specific video content.
Twitch will be turned into a vlogging platform. You’ll get the opportunity to see me outside of my standard blog videos as I test recipes, make dinner, reorganize my kitchen, try new gluten-free products, and other day-to-day activities. My twitch content will be live and unrated.
I try to maintain a soft PG on my regular blog content, so twitch will be less stuffy and more personal. I’ve always felt constrained by YouTube’s shorter video culture, so I’m excited to show off more of my genuine personality through vlogging on twitch.
Also, I can feature “extra” content on twitch. I try to limit my blog videos to just the recipes, plus a tasting at the end. On twitch, I can show off things like my “kitchen sink pasta,” which doesn’t have an easily shared recipe. With that dish, I usually take whatever Italian ingredients we have at the time and throw it all together into a delicious meal. It’s also pretty fast for nights when I don’t really feel like cooking.
Next, I’m doing a meal prep series on my blog for April. I need to start meal prepping to balance cooking for myself and cooking at work and being constantly exhausted from constantly cooking. And meal prep is supposed to be cheaper. Since my next few paychecks are already earmarked, cheaper is better. So get AMPed for April Meal Prep!
So that’s it for this week’s announcements. I will return to posting regularly next week after some of the teams who currently eat at the cafeteria go home and we only have one team to feed. Once my workload dips some and I can come home with some energy left, I can blog again weekly. So be ready to get AMPed starting next week!
